The Whole Harvest Campaign is SEEAGβs initiative to raise support to revitalize 6.2 acres of farmland on the Ventura County Juvenile Facilities property in Oxnard, formerly known as the Senior Nutrition Farm. In collaboration with the County of Ventura, we are working toward a 20-year lease agreement and a shared vision to transform this land into a vibrant educational farm campus rooted in community. This monumental lease agreement will be voted on at the August 12th Ventura County Board of Supervisors meeting.
To build something truly special we are taking a more holistic approach to fundraisingβgoing beyond dollarsβto cultivate five essential forms of capital that will support the farmβs long-term, sustainable development.
Together, weβre cultivating more than crops, weβre growing opportunities. We hope you will join us in planting the seeds.

Every contribution makes a difference - thank you for your support!

The Whole Harvest Campaign is built on the belief that meaningful change requires both vision and investment. Contributions of financial capital, whether through grants, donations, sponsorships, or in-kind resources, provide the foundation for long-term impact. These funds fuel our infrastructure, programs, and capacity to serve, helping us turn bare soil into a thriving educational farm.
We invite you to consider making a donation to help grow this vision. Your support directly nurtures the future weβre building, together.
FINACIAL CAPITAL

The Whole Harvest Campaign is rooted in our connection to the land. By restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, and expanding pollinator habitats, weβre building a productive and resilient farm ecosystem that will support generations of learners.
Your support helps bring this vision to life, nurturing both the land and the lives it touches. If youβre interested in supporting our natural capital through your time, expertise, or resources, weβd love to hear from you. Contact us below to get involved.
NATURAL CAPITAL

HUMAN CAPITAL
The Whole Harvest Campaign invests in people as much as it does the land. By establishing an advisory committee and leveraging strong partnerships, weβre developing immersive, skill-building programs that prepare the next generation for meaningful careers in agriculture and beyond. From hands-on internships to mentorship opportunities, our goal is to cultivate local agricultural ambassadors, foster leadership, and strengthen the community.
If youβre passionate about investing your time and expertise in this project, or know someone who would be a great fit, we invite you to connect with us below.

The Whole Harvest Campaign is SEEAGβs year-long $250,000 fundraising initiative to support the launch and operations of a new educational farm campus in partnership with the County of Ventura and the Ventura County Probation Agency. This campaign encompasses more than just financial supportβitβs about cultivating community, education, and long-term sustainability through five forms of capital: financial, human, intellectual, natural, and social.
Later this summer the Ventura County Board of Supervisors will vote on the long-term lease agreement which will enable SEEAG to transform over 6 acres of county-owned land into a hub for STEM-based, cost-free, community-driven opportunities. On August 16th we will come together for SEEAGβs First Annual Summer Celebration to celebrate the milestone vote, announce our campaign progress, and unveil our plans for a one-of-a-kind farm campus.

The farm is located on public land formerly used by the Senior Nutrition Garden, near the Juvenile Justice Complex in Oxnard. SEEAG is working toward a long-term social benefit lease with the County of Ventura at $1 per year due to the projectβs public benefit designation.

SEEAG has over a decade of proven experience delivering high-impact, hands-on agricultural education to thousands of students across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Our mission to connect students and communities to the farms and food grown all around us aligns directly with this farm's purpose.
We have strong relationships with school districts, public agencies, and nonprofit partners, and a track record of executing multi-part education programs at over 70 schools annually, county-wide events, and community-based projects. This farm is a natural evolution of our work, providing a permanent home base to deepen our impact, expand access to STEM and agricultural career pathway exploration and preparation, and grow nutritious food. With our deep local roots, collaborative approach, and commitment to equity, SEEAG is uniquely positioned to make this farm campus vision a reality.
-
This farm integrates agricultural career development, cost-free STEM education, and cross-sector collaboration in unique ways:
It's rooted in partnership with the County of Ventura.
Our intention is that all food grown be donated to people in need, including the families of both the youth housed at the Juvenile Facilities and of the children who attend Title 1 schools throughout Ventura County.
We plan to offer paid, work-based learning experiences for youth housed at Juvenile Facilities, engaging justice system-involved youth in positive, skill-building opportunities that prepare them to enter a STEM-driven career in agriculture.
We imagine this farm campus to be a collaborative space where a collective of non profit organizations, Ventura County agencies, ag industry partners, and educational institutions work together to inspire the future of our local food system.
-
Funds raised through the Whole Harvest Campaign will support:
Site development and infrastructure
Educational programming and curriculum development
Paid student internships and stipends
Transportation for students
Staff time and farm operations
Food donation logistics and partnerships
-
Our STEM Career Pathways in Agriculture program connects students with local professionals and careers in agriculture, environmental science, and STEM fields throughout the entire food system. Through hands-on labs, personality and career exploration workshops, industry field trips, students gain both inspiration and practical skills.
-
In collaboration with the Probation Agency, SEEAG will provide meaningful opportunities for youth involved in the justice systemβincluding career exploration, paid internships, and volunteer experiences. These programs are designed to foster leadership, self-efficacy, and environmental stewardship, while reducing recidivism by expanding career networks and supporting long-term personal and professional growth.
-
This farm campus will benefit:
Elementary, middle and high school students across Ventura County, with opportunities for students and teachers across the Central Coast
Justice system-involved youth
Families experiencing food insecurity
Educators and community partners
Agricultural workforce development
-
Yes! SEEAG plans to offer opportunities for donors and supporters to visit the farm, participate in volunteer days, and attend milestone events. We believe in cultivating relationships as deeply as we cultivate the soil.
