During our recent volunteer day, community members and former interns joined us in helping improve and beautify our education space by creating flower beds in front of our signs. It was wonderful to spend the day working together outdoors and making our space even more welcoming for the community. We are always looking for volunteers throughout the summer to help with projects, events, and educational programs. Volunteering with SEEAG is a great way to connect with the community, support agricultural education, and spend time outside making a difference. Middle school students from Adelante Charter had an amazing day exploring the world of agriculture at Rincon Farms! 🌱🥑 During their STEM field trip, students learned all about the food supply chain, from soil health and avocado production to packing and distribution. They explored the differences between sand, silt, and clay soils, discovered the importance of cover crops and medicinal plants during a nature walk, and even picked fresh avocados right from the orchard. Students also got a behind-the-scenes look at how avocados are sorted, weighed, packed, and shipped off to consumers across the country. Springtime in Food Lab means colorful overnight oatmeal fruit bowls. Our students got to become both chefs AND artists as they created their very own “rainbowl” masterpieces using fresh fruits and wholesome ingredients. Through hands-on cooking, students explored how we use all 5 senses to prepare and enjoy food, because we truly eat with our eyes first! Students arranged their ingredients in ways that felt beautiful and creative to them, learning that healthy food can be both nourishing AND fun. Every bowl turned out unique, colorful, and delicious Try this easy recipe at home with your kids or family! Overnight Oatmeal Fruit Bowl Recipe:
• 1/2 cup rolled oats
• 1/2 cup water
• pinch of brown sugar Mix together and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, build your rainbowl:
❤️ Red: strawberries
🧡 Orange: oranges
💛 Yellow: bananas
💚 Green: grapes
💙 Blue: blueberries

🌱 On our recent STEM field trip to Las Cumbres, students explored the power of regenerative ranching 🐮 From studying living soil in irrigated pastures, to meeting cattle and learning how their breed, diet, and grazing practices help improve the land, to walking perennial fields that capture carbon and retain water, students experienced sustainable agriculture firsthand. They even dug into root systems to better understand how plants build strong, resilient soil from the ground up.
