Exciting Progress at the Southbank Learning Farm
What started as an ambitious plan to transform our site into an outdoor classroom and workforce development farm is becoming a reality! Thanks to hard work from the SEEAG team, dedicated volunteers, and community partners, weβre excited to share a few of our latest updates with you.
Recent weeks have brought incredible momentum to the farm. A major highlight was the delivery and placement of three 40-foot shipping containers! Supported by our friends at AgWest Farm Credit, these containers will serve as an on-site office, classroom, and storage hub. After several big cleanup workdays, the land is looking vibrant, organized, and full of potential once again!
Welcoming New Faces to the Farm
We also have some wonderful updates within our farm team! While our SEEAG Farm Manager, Xochitl, is currently away enjoying precious time with her new baby, we are excited to welcome Natalie, Farm Production Manager, and Lucas, Native & Habitat Landscaping Expert, to the farm. They have stepped up wonderfully to keep daily operations moving smoothly.
We were also thrilled to welcome our newest intern, Chris, a fourth-year student at CSUCI who jumped right in and has already been a tremendous help!
