Produce Pop-Up Recap – Barbara Webster Elementary School, Santa Paula
Helpers at the Produce Pop-Up
We had an amazing time at our recent Produce Pop-Up at Barbara Webster Elementary School in Santa Paula! The afternoon was filled with energy, gratitude, and community spirit as families came together to pick up fresh produce and connect with local partners dedicated to supporting healthy living.
Thanks to the generous donation of 250 pre-packaged food boxes from Food Share and four boxes of gleaned oranges from Food Forward, we were able to offer a wide variety of fresh, nutritious foods to community members. Many families shared how much they appreciated having access to high-quality fruits and vegetables—especially during such a busy time of year. The smiles on children’s faces as they helped carry food home with their parents truly highlighted the impact of these resources.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our partners and volunteers. The staff at Barbara Webster Elementary worked behind the scenes to ensure the campus was ready for distribution and that families could easily participate. Their commitment to student and family wellbeing is evident in everything they do.
We were also thrilled to have the help of the Boys & Girls Club, whose members jumped right in to assist with set-up, staging produce, and greeting community members. Their teamwork helped the line move smoothly and made the environment welcoming for everyone.
A special shoutout goes to the Renaissance High School students, who enthusiastically handed out the Food Share boxes with positivity. Their willingness to serve their community and support younger students set a wonderful example and added a youthful energy to the event.
With such a collaborative effort, the Produce Pop-Up was more than just a food distribution—it became a celebration of connection, nutrition, and local partnership. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who contributed their time, resources, and heart to make this event a success.
We look forward to hosting more events like this throughout the community and continuing to make healthy, farm-fresh food accessible to all. Thank you, Santa Paula, for showing up and supporting one another!
