Volunteer Day: Bringing 6 Acres Back to Life

Another amazing volunteer day is in the books β€” and what a day it was! Over the past few weeks, our team has been working hard to restore six acres of farmland (formerly the Senior Nutrition Farm) and bring it back to life. This land has been untouched for more than half a year, and thanks to our incredible volunteers, we’re seeing it transform step by step.

Harvesting the Leftovers

The day kicked off with the most exciting task β€” harvesting the produce still thriving on the farm. Together, our volunteers picked red grapes, dragon fruit, prickly pears, and onions. It was a colorful and rewarding way to start the day. Thank you, harvesting team!

Watering the Fields

Next up was one of the most important jobs: watering. With the land in such need of care, volunteers worked diligently to get water flowing again, turning on irrigation systems and ensuring every corner of the farm received some much-needed hydration. Thank you, watering team!

Tackling the Weeds

Meanwhile, our third team got to work on the weeds. Armed with shovels, rakes, gloves, and weed whackers, they made an incredible difference in clearing the land. By the end of the event, the progress was easy to see β€” cleaner rows, open spaces, and a farm that’s one step closer to being fully revived.

Gratitude for Our Volunteers

These volunteer days are making all the difference in bringing this farm back to life, little by little. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for this event. Your time, energy, and teamwork are what make this transformation possible.

We couldn’t do this without you β€” thank you volunteers!
