Produce Pop-Up Recap – Glen City Elementary School, Santa Paula

We had an incredible time at our recent Produce Pop-Up at Glen City Elementary in Santa Paula!

Thanks to the generous donation of 300 pre-packaged food boxes from Food Share of Ventura County, along with four boxes of gleaned grapefruits from Food Forward, families were able to take home a wonderful variety of fresh, nutritious items. From pantry staples to fresh citrus, each box represented not just food, but care and community support. Seeing children proudly help carry boxes alongside their parents was a reminder of the impact these events have on our community. Moments like these highlight the importance of our Youth Wellness Initiative Program, and making fresh food accessible while also empowering families to be part of the experience.

This Produce Pop-Up would not have been possible without the amazing support of our partners and volunteers. The Glen City Elementary staff and PTA played a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment, ensuring the event ran smoothly from start to finish. From coordinating logistics to helping guide families through the distribution process, their dedication and teamwork were evident every step of the way. Their commitment to supporting students and families truly made this event special.

We also want to recognize the volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to make the day a success. Whether they were unloading boxes, organizing produce, or assisting families, their efforts made a meaningful difference. It’s through this kind of community involvement that events like this are able to thrive and grow.

Through this collaborative effort, the second Produce Pop-Up at Glen City became more than just a food distribution; it was a celebration of connection, nourishment, and community partnership. We look forward to continuing to host Produce Pop-Ups throughout the year, reaching even more families and expanding access to fresh, local produce across our community. With each event, we aim to build stronger connections and ensure that everyone has access to healthy food.

Thank you, Glen City community, for showing up, supporting one another, and making this event so memorable. We can’t wait to see you at the next one!
