Help Us Keep Students Connected to Farms: Support SEEAG’s Bus Bucks
Students at SEEAG’s Farm-to-Food Lab field trip site
At SEEAG, we see it every week. The moment a student steps off the bus and onto a farm for the very first time. For many, it’s their first field trip. Their first time planting a seedling, and watching it grow. Their first time meeting a farmer. These moments spark curiosity, connection, and confidence.
But none of it happens without transportation to the farm, where the real learning happens.
We invite you to be support our mission, through Bus Bucks! This is SEEAG’s annual fundraiser dedicated to covering bus transportation costs so that every student can participate in our Farm-to-Food Lab and STEM Career Pathways in Agriculture programs, regardless of their school’s budget. We reimburse every single school that attends our programs. No school is turned away due to bus costs. As more schools join our programs each year, and as transportation becomes more expensive, this commitment continues to grow.
Thousands of students across Ventura and Santa Barbara counties participate in SEEAG’s programs each year. You can see the breadth of our reach by exploring our Impact Map here.
SEEAG’s Bus Reimbursement Model: Removing Financial Barriers
On average, SEEAG reimburses schools $200–$500 per bus to bring students to our farm education sites, with reimbursements averaging $300 per bus.
When you multiply that by the 80+ schools we serve throughout the school year, the need becomes clear.
Transportation costs are one of the largest barriers schools face to participate in outdoor field trips, and they continue to rise each year. Your donation directly removes that barrier.
When you give to Bus Bucks, you’re not just funding a bus ride, you’re:
Making hands-on STEM education accessible
Supporting Title I schools and underserved communities
Connecting students to local agriculture and food systems
Investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders
Join us in reaching our $24,000 goal by the end of the month and open the door for thousands of students across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties to experience agriculture firsthand. Your support fuels hands-on, STEM-based learning through SEEAG’s programs — inspiring curiosity, discovery, and future possibilities.
