October Volunteer Day: Bettering Petty Ranch for Education Programs
Volunteers at Petty Ranch
We are thrilled to share the success of our October Volunteer Day at Petty Ranch!
This past Thursday, our incredible group of volunteers joined SEEAG staff to roll up their sleeves, get their hands in the soil, and give some love to our garden and outdoor learning spaces. Days like these remind us how powerful community support can be in keeping our programs thriving year-round.
Together, we accomplished so much:
Picked up and unloaded compost and soil for our garden beds, setting the stage for healthy growthπ±
Cleaned, nourished, and replanted our garden beds with new Fall and Winter crops, ensuring students will have fresh, thriving plants to explore during their upcoming field trips πΎ
Distributed freshly harvested vegetables and herbs from the ranch because nothing beats the joy of sharing food grown right from our soil π₯
Re-stained and repaired our picnic tables, giving them a beautiful refresh for students, parents, and chaperones to enjoy during outdoor lessons and lunches πͺ΅
Thanks to everyoneβs hard work, the site looks refreshed, vibrant, and ready for the next wave of visiting classrooms. The care that went into every task will continue to make a difference throughout the season as we welcome hundreds of local third-graders to learn about where their food comes from.
We are incredibly thankful for our volunteersβ time, energy, and generosity. Your support helps us maintain this beautiful site, generously provided by Farmer Chris Sayer, which serves as the heart of our hands-on education programs and community events.
SEEAGβs mission to connect students and communities with agriculture is only possible because of people like you who show up, dig in, and help us grow.
