SEEAG invites you to register for our free, third-grade Farm-to-Food Lab program and middle and high school STEM Career Pathways in Agriculture (STEM CPA) program.

Registration opens at 7:00 AM on the dates below. Free programming is available to Title 1 schools.

Registration Opens

  • Title 1 Schools — Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 7:00 AM

  • Non-Title 1 Schools — Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties: Friday, September 4, 2026 at 7:00 AM

Please note: Registration submissions from non-Title 1 schools received before September 4 will not be accepted.

Spots are expected to fill quickly, so we encourage you to mark your calendar and register early.

Farm-to-Food Lab Program

SEEAG’s free, NGSS-aligned, three-part Farm-to-Food Lab program introduces third-grade students to the science of agriculture and the journey of food from seed to table through engaging, hands-on learning.

The program includes all three required components:

  • Part 1: Introduction to Agriculture — 1-hour classroom lesson at your school

  • Part 2: Farm Lab — 4.5-hour immersive field trip at Petty Ranch in Ventura County or Allan Hancock College in Santa Barbara County

  • Part 3: Food Lab — 1-hour classroom-based food preparation workshop at your school

STEM Career Pathways in Agriculture

The STEM Career Pathways in Agriculture program immerses middle and high school students in the diverse world of agriculture, offering hands-on experiences in agronomy, technology, and engineering through interactive classroom labs and real-world field trips.

Students explore a variety of agriculture careers and connect with industry professionals, leaving the program inspired and equipped to pursue future opportunities in agriculture.

The program includes three free, connected experiences, all held within the same week:

  • Part 1: Career Guidance Workshop — A classroom workshop where students discover their strengths through an interactive personality activity and explore careers in agriculture through videos featuring local industry professionals (~1 hour).

  • Part 2: Hands-On STEM Lab — A classroom-based STEM experience featuring labs such as building a hydroponic system, analyzing fungi under microscopes, or testing soil samples for health and moisture. Teachers choose which lab their students will complete (~1 hour).

  • Part 3: Field Trip Experience — A visit to a local farm or agribusiness where students get a behind-the-scenes look at agriculture in action (~2 hours). Past partners include Bonipak Produce, Brokaw Nursery, Las Cumbres Ranch, Plantel Nurseries, Driscoll’s, Reiter Affiliated Companies, Santa Barbara Blueberries, Rancho Laguna, McGrath Family Farms, Gills Onions, and Rincon Farms.
